Prince Bay Taiziwan Development

Shenzhen, China

This large-scale, multi-use comprehensive commercial project developed stretches across three sites with a GFA of 22,200 sq. m., excluding parking spaces.

The first site, K-11, comprises a six-storey office tower on top of a seven-storey high-end shopping centre with footbridge connections to the adjacent D-Park development site; a “Cinema City” made up of eight cinemas and an IMAX theatre; a public transport interchange; and a three-storey basement with retail areas. Pedestrian subways also connect to the adjacent underground railway station.

The D-Park site consists of a four-storey shopping arcade with a themed interior; specialty anchor tenant spaces that provide cross-generational entertainment, arts and culture-related facilities and event spaces; a multi-level link bridge connecting to the K-11 development; and a fully-landscaped roof terrace garden with various outdoor activities and event spaces developed for the enjoyment of visitors.

The third, smaller site lies to the northeast and contains cultural and exhibition-related facilities and supporting commercial uses.

The concept and schematic design were developed by prominent architectural firm OMA, with RLP acting as the executive architect. The façade design was carefully developed by OMA to be both exceptional and eye-catching, and the overall development aims to become a new icon for Shenzhen.
