Located in Kai Tak, the new headquarters for CLP Holdings Ltd. is a sustainable, human-centric commercial office tower that embodies the company’s holistic commitment to carbon neutrality, sustainability, innovation, and a people-first culture.
The building’s low-carbon design yields an overall 28% reduction in CO₂, employing high-performance façades and an expansive green roof for natural insulation and cooling. Its layout optimises solar orientation and daylighting; tall cathedral glass walls at the north and south sides provide vistas from inside the atrium space.
Its reclaimed, renewable and recycled materials like negative-carbon carpets, fast-growing bamboo, eco-bricks, and recycled glass minimise embodied carbon. Integrated with Kai Tak’s efficient district cooling system, the building’s active systems include CO₂-sensor-driven ventilation, ultra-low-power density occupancy-based lighting and skylight-integrated solar PV panels that produce on-site renewable energy.
The design also enhances climate resilience through extensive greenery to combat the urban heat island effect, optimised wind corridors for pedestrian comfort along with shaded and naturally ventilated communal spaces, a robust building envelope, and regenerative landscaping.
Biophilic connectivity ensures that nature touches all parts of the building, from sky views and natural patterns to dynamic light interplay and rooftop greenery; while enhancing circulation and connectivity by linking the building to the covered elevated walkway system.
